Marjory’s Garden

"Marjory's Garden is a community initiative, lovingly established by the dedicated teachers and students of Stoneman Douglas High School. This verdant oasis has proven to be an invaluable resource, providing students with a serene environment to unwind and appreciate nature during their lunch breaks. Its role, however, extends beyond merely being a picturesque lunch spot.

As Mr. Jeter, one of the primary contributors to this project, passionately conveyed, "I was thrilled at the idea that it could be so much more than just a garden; it could serve as a park, a green space, or an outdoor classroom." His vision materialized as the garden evolved into a multifaceted space that promotes learning and growth.

Today, it serves as an incubator for vegetables, a nursery for trees, and a floral sanctuary designed to attract butterflies. It also boasts a permanent telescope for both day and night observations, creative art installations, and thoughtfully engineered seating areas — all brought to life by an enterprising class of engineers. And this is just the beginning; the garden promises much more in the future."
