Victor Payton

Meet Victor Payton, a South Florida-based photographer with a knack for capturing breathtaking underwater imagery.

When he's not making a splash in the pool, which he regards as his natural habitat, Victor immerses himself in the digital world - be it through watching cartoons, playing video games, or bringing his imagination to life with Photoshop.

His journey into the realm of photography began at the age of 13 when a point-and-shoot camera that he won in a middle school reading contest sparked a lifelong passion. This budding interest led him to the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, where he majored in Photography and Digital Media, enriching his understanding of the art form and its storied past. The experience was transformative, particularly when he joined his high school's swimming team and developed a fascination for the underwater world, prompting him to portray his friends through this new lens.

His dedication and talent have not gone unnoticed - Victor is a two-time recipient of the National Scholastic Art & Writing Gold Medal, and his work was showcased in the esteemed Art.Write.Now.2016 exhibition at the Sheila C. Johnson Center at the Parsons School of Design.

Looking to the future, Victor aspires to dive deeper into his passion for underwater photography and dreams of displaying his work in additional galleries around the world.
